Being a New Mom.

I feel the need to start off by saying that your perspective when you are a parent is entirely different than when you see others doing it. And I don’t just mean being a parent, but experiencing pregnancy, labor, and the first few weeks of life with your newborn. Honestly? It’s just like being a person (big, surprise, huh?), except you’re adding one more to your family unit.

Of course, there are new tasks required of you and new experiences to be had, some more difficult than others. However, it just feels natural and as though this is how it always has been or should be. Having a body that functions well now, makes this so much easier. Lyme disease is nothing that anyone should go through as well as any of the other chronic conditions I endured. I always believe that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, though you don’t know the timing of that. And sometimes that tunnel is REALLY UGLY and you don’t want a light to shine until you reach the end of at least that chapter or season.

Personally, I feel like we’ve gotten there. And now we have a sweet little baby Nora who grunts and stretches often. I love her ruby red lips, her stretchy stretchy face, the widening of her eyes… Daddy loves her little piggies (toes) and truly everything about her (we both do!)

I still have moments where I can’t believe I’m a mom! It’s surreal sometimes. As though I was watching a TV series and just found out it’s been my life. And that the seasons never end. And the more I learn about the body, the more I understand how capable it can be and how truly divinely created we are by our one triune God.
