Can you take a guess? Is it along the lines of studying, interviewing or learning more about pregnancy? That might be one. Is it perhaps what you do after the birth? Sure that might be another. However, I’m talking about the condition of a woman’s body before she conceives. I find those of us who have struggled with infertility and go the natural route are fortunate. Why? Oftentimes, it’s because we are giving our babies a greater opportunity for better health. And when I say that, I do not want to or rather intend not to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m simply saying that we have a load of toxins in our bodies that pass to our babies. So, it stands to reason that if we can mitigate that, why not?
Personally, my body was in no condition to have a baby – which is the reason why we weren’t able to. Many people said to go on fertility drugs, but if I wasn’t cycling, why would I do that? If I knew that I had heavy metals, wouldn’t I get them out? If I knew that my thyroid and cycle were affected by my lead, why not remove it? If I had different infections such as lyme, why not fight them off first rather than transfer them to the baby? These were all questions that I had asked myself. What other issues I might have had that might have passed to her, I wanted to address. However, I will say that we were open to conceiving whenever the Lord decided it was the right timing.
Whenever I hear of fertility issues, it is usually because of a toxic burden, poor diet, hidden infections, or stress. Yes, the Lord does open and close the womb, but we can still be advocates for our bodies and do the best that we know how to or learn to be the best that we can be.
Are you or do you know someone struggling with infertility? It’s not easy and can really break a person, but this is a great opportunity to share with them that is it is possible if the Lord wills. This is also an opportune time to love on them with the Lord and his Word; we often forget how alive and active the scriptures are. I recall a special couple who pulled scripture and told me that we will get pregnant. I was doubtful. But a year later we did. I didn’t believe it, but it happened.
One of my pastors once said “Pray as though it depends on God and work as though it depends on you.” So within this context, my advice is to do your due diligence at preparing your body so that you’re ability to conceive is heightened. Prepare your body so that your baby has the best chance possible at a healthier life.
